The main research areas of the Key Discipline Laboratory of National Defense for Multi-Hull Ship Technologies include resistance of multi-hull ships and optimization of ship forms, wave resistance and motion control of multi-hull ships, structure design of multi-hull ships, unconventional multi-hull ship technology, multi-hull ship experimentation technology. In November 2012, the Key Discipline Laboratory of National Defense for Multi-Hull Ship Technologies was evaluated and recognized by the Key Discipline Laboratory Evaluation Center of the National Defense Science and Technology Bureau. The research activities of the laboratory do not only support the discipline of design and manufacture of ships and offshore structures, but also promote the common development of related disciplines such as ship powering, electric engineering and material science.
