1. Introduction

The Team originated from the Ship Propulsion Performance Group of the School of Marine Engineering, Harbin Engineering University, with Prof. Huang Sheng as the founder of the team, and has been inherited for more than 40 years. The team is committed to supporting the development of high-performance naval equipment through theoretical and experimental technical means and exploring the basic scientific problems in practical engineering. With the purpose of serving the country and national defense industry construction, aiming at the major strategic needs of the country and national defense, the team constantly consolidates and improves the level of basic theoretical analysis and engineering test, and forms a comprehensive research capability integrating the accurate prediction of overall performance of ships, auxiliary design and physical model test. In recent years, the team has taken the lead in responding to the call of the university to lay out the Qingdao Innovation and Development Base, and actively participated in the planning of the construction of the Ship and Ocean Engineering discipline in Qingdao Innovation and Development Base. Under the unified deployment of the university, relying on the system advantages of Qingdao Innovation and Development Base, the team continuously promotes the fusion of disciplines and the cultivation of emerging interdisciplinary disciplines, and realizes the synergistic development of the team in Harbin Headquarters and Qingdao Innovation and Development Base.

 The team has undertaken more than 100 scientific research projects such as National Natural Fund, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology High-tech Ship, Basic Enhancement Program of Military Science and Technology Commission, Basic Scientific Research of Bureau of Science and Industry, Naval Preliminary Research, and Model Scientific Research. The team has won one second prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress, two first prizes and one third prize of National Defense Scientific and Technological Progress, one first prize of Science and Technology Invention in Marine Engineering, one first prize and one second prize of Science and Technology Progress of China Society of Shipbuilding Engineers, and one third prize of Science and Technology Invention in Heilongjiang Province; it has published more than 200 high level academic papers such as SCI, EI and so on, and has obtained more than 100 invention patents, and more than 100 software copyrights. 2. Scientific research

In the past five years, the team has undertaken more than 40 scientific research projects such as the National Natural Fund, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology high-tech ships, the Basic Strengthening Program of the Military Science and Technology Commission, the basic scientific research of the Bureau of Science and Industry, the Navy's pre-research, model scientific research and other research projects. The team focuses on the overall performance of ships, fine flow field and cross-scale testing and analysis technology, polar ship propulsion technology, flexible fluctuating amphibious propulsion technology, underwater multi-physical field coupling target detection and identification technology, etc. The team also focuses on the potential flow-viscous flow coupling prediction and design technology of ship propellers and energy-saving devices, the comprehensive design of ship special propellers and performance prediction technology, the vibration and noise reduction technology of ship propulsion system, the PIV test of multi-environmental field, and the PIV test of multi-environmental field. In addition, we have developed the PIV test and analysis technology of multi-environmental field, the performance test and analysis technology of large-scale ship navigation in real sea area, and the theory and experimental test technology of propulsion performance of ships navigating in ice area, which are at the leading level, and provide important support for the safety of China's ship navigation, propulsion vibration reduction and noise reduction, and the development of the application of polar equipment.

3. Team Culture
