The International Expert Consultation Meeting on the Top Level of Numerical Pools was held at Harbin Engineering University during March 15 to 16, 2014.More than 50 experts from China, United States, United Kingdom, France, and Japan attended the meeting. Domestic participants include Shanghai Jiaotong University, Dalian University of Technology, Wuhan University of Technology and Harbin Engineering University. The experts reached a consensus on the guidelines and key research topics for future development of the numerical tank. The participants shared the view that, in order to solve many key problems of naval architecture and ocean engineering, it is urgent to develop numerical tank technologies, and continue the research of the topics requiring further study in the three major innovative research areas of computational fluid dynamics.

Driven by the Collaborative Innovation Centre for Deep Sea Engineering and High-Tech Ships, the second numerical tank expert consultation meeting was held at HEU from September 13th to 14th. Renowned Experts of Numerical Marine Hydrodynamics participated in the discussions and shared their expertise for the on-going numerical tank project, a Ministry of Industry and Information Technology High-tech Ship Scientific Research Project coordinated by Harbin Engineering University. The research topics, approaches, objectives of the project, and the needs of the industry were discussed at the meeting.
