Recently, the Education Department of Heilongjiang Province announced the winners of the 11th Outstanding College Teacher Award. Prof. Su Yumin becomes the first winner of this honor in the College of Shipbuilding Engineering.
Su Yumin, born in 1960, Ph.D., professor and Doctoral supervisor of HEU. He has won National Excellent Teacher Award and Excellent Postgraduate Supervisor Award of Heilongjiang Province. He is a chief scientist of the 973 Project, a subject matter expert of the Science and Technology Committee of Central Military Commission, a team leader in the expert group on “a specific field” and a member of the expert verification group on mechanics of National Defense Basic Scientific Research, an expert group member of the Navy’s pre-research on the overall performance of submarines, an expert member in the propulsion and cavitation group of Mechanics Committee of CSNAME. He has won the honorary title of the 100 Outstanding Doctors of National Defense Science and Technology Industry. He enjoys the State Council special allowance. He has long engaged in the studies on USV technology, micro-miniature ROV technology, underwater bionic propulsion technology, and propeller impetus technology. He is director of a number of research programs: the 973 Project, the 863 Project of MOST, research programs of Science and Technology Committee of Central Military Commission, National Defense Basic Scientific Research Project, pre-research project of General Armaments Department, pre-research project of the Navy’s Department of Equipment, and some research projects of NSFC. He has won one 1st prize of Heilongjiang Teaching Award, one 2nd prize of National Teaching Award; He lectures one national fine video course; He has won one 2nd prize of Technical Innovation Award for national defense, one 2nd prize of Natural Science and Technology Award of Heilongjiang province, one 2nd prize of PLA’s S&T Progress Award, one 3rd prize of Technical Innovation Award for national defense, Heilongjiang Book award; He has won the honorary title of the 100 Outstanding Doctors of National Defense Science and Technology Industry; He has published more than 140 academic papers, has obtained 20 computer software copyrights, and has authored two monographs.
