On Oct.25, 2018, the General Office of the Education Ministry issued the《Decision on the Approval of 2018 National Educational Establishment Awards》. The project proposed jointly by Tianjin University and this college——“Building up Talent Cultivation System for Educating First-rate Engineering Specialty in the field of Marine and Ocean-engineering” got the 2nd Rank Award of National Educational Establishment, which is the first award of this sort obtained by this college The project summarized over a decade’s procedures and experience in cultivating high-level engineering talents in the field as mentioned, compacting highly the procedures, synthesizing “Special courses’ System”, “Teacher Ability Strengthening System and Student Training System——Twin Drives”, “Self learning, Student Exploitation and Teachers Development,——Three Platforms”. By use of these measures, combining the advantages in researching and teachings, will benefit and promote the crossing fertilizing of various aspects. The knowledge, abilities of both teachers and students will be mutually promoted, forming a firm support for cultivating first-rate engineering talents, realizing the combination of education abilities, so as to secure the scale and quality in the high-level talent cultivation.

The project has resulted in remarkable effects, and shown radiation influence. A high ranking talent cultivation base has thus been established in the field as mentioned. The achievement of this project has been referenced and cited. Some colleagues, in home and abroad, including some academicians of China. Academy of Engineering Science have paid high appreciations to the achievements of this project, as well as the practice in the education of this college.
