From Mar. 31 to Apr. 6, Prof Aleksandr Korobkin and Associate Prof Takyana Khabakhpasheva of East Anglia Uni U.K. paid a visit to this institute.

The East Anglia Uni of U.k. is a first-class institution in U.K. and one of the most important research centre in Europe as well as the world. Prof Korobkin has obtained outstanding achievements in the interaction between fluid and structure, widely acknowledged worldwide. He was awarded the Weiblum Lectureship, one of the most famous award in Ship Hydrodynamics. Associate Prof Khabakhpasheva has fruitful research achievements in the field of Ice Mechanics, presented over 100 papers in conferences and journals. On the seminar here, the two visitors presented respectively lectures on water-elastic waves in icy route, water-elastic waves induced by moving loading or moving submersibles, the interaction between waves and vertical circular cylinder, impact between water and trash ice, semi-analytical solutions to the influx and outflux problems, experiment and theory of rising disk from water surface, they answered the problems raised by the students, about the interaction of fluid and structure, ice-water dynamics and water-elastic waves.
