Recently, the Education Department of Heilongjiang Province announced the list of 2019 Longjiang Scholars. Prof. Pang Fuzhen from the College of Shipbuilding Engineering is selected as “Longjiang Young Scholar”.

“Longjiang Scholars Support Program” is a leading project to support the high-level personnel construction in institutions of higher education and scientific research. As Heilongjiang’s major project on talent management, it is a an important measure to attract academic leaders and young academic elites influential both at home and broad, who combine ability with political integrity and adhere to patriotic dedication. The program is also an important component in high-level talents cultivation and supporting system implemented by the provincial party committee and the provincial government. The program focuses on bringing in and cultivating high-level talents with outstanding creativity and development potential, aims to build excellent innovative teams, and make efforts to improve the quality of talents cultivated, innovation ability and core competitiveness in institutions of higher education and scientific research.

Pang Fuzhen

Longjiang Young Scholar

Pang Fuzhen, born in August 1980, professor, Doctoral supervisor, Doctor of Engineering. He has long been committed to both teaching and scientific research. He is deputy headman in the Vibration & Noise group of CSNAME’s academic committee on ship mechanics; he is on the editorial board of Ship Engineering; he is secretary of MIIT’s special innovation management office for high-tech shipping technology. He is a judge of NSFC’s review committee. He is reviewer for more than 20 SCI-indexed journals. He has directed and participated in about 40 research projects: key research and development plan project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, MIIT’s special project on the innovation of high-tech shipping technology, pre-research project of the Ministry of National Defense, fund program of the General Armaments Department, and some other projects of NSFC.

He has won one 2nd prize of National Technological Invention Award, one 1st prize and two 2nd prizes of S&T Progress Award of Heilongjiang province, one 1st prize of the PLA’s S&T Progress Award, one 1st prize, one 2nd prize and two 3rd prizes of National S&T Progress Award. He has authored 2 monographs, has applied for about 30 patents for invitation, has obtained about 20 computer software copyrights. He has published more than 120 high-level academic papers, among which 30 are SCI-indexed, 50 are EI-indexed, and the citations of his papers in Google amounts to 1000.

At present, 17 teachers from HEU have been selected as distinguished professors of “Longjiang Scholars”, 2 teachers have been elected as chair professors and 6 teachers have been elected as Longjiang Young Scholars. Among them, 3 distinguished professors, Prof. Duan Wenyang, Prof. Yao Xiongliang and Prof. Zhang Aman are from the College of Shipbuilding Engineering. Prof. Pang Fuzhen is selected as Longjiang Young Scholar this year.
