From July 22nd to 26th , a team consisted ofresearch fellow Wan Lei and other 4 researchers from the Underwater Robot Technology Key Laboratoryofthis collegecameto Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain, Jilin Province. They were invited to help CCTV to shoot the underwater topographic and geomorphic features of Tianchi Lake and the hot springs around it.The Remote Controlling Observation underwater robot developed by the Key Laboratory was adopted in the shooting.
Through the spot testing, the robot proved to meet the requirement of the shooting. In order to obtain underwater video data of Tianchi Lake indifferent time periods, the underwater robot conducted the shooting day and night for many times. The topographic and geomorphic featuresof Tianchi Lake and the distribution pattern of the hot springs around it were recorded clearly, which provided the valuable resources to volcano research and seismic study.
