The College Wins the Gold Award of the 7th Patent in Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Industry


On November 15, the 2nd China Maritime Equipment Expo 2024, themed "Green Intelligence, New Quality Future," opened at the Fuzhou Strait International Convention and Exhibition Center. The list of winners for the 7th Patent Awards in the shipbuilding and marine engineering industry was announced. A patent entitled "A Wave Glider with Easy Recovery and Its Recovery Method" invented by Professor Yulei Liao and others from the college won the gold award, while a patent titled "A Multi-functional Explosion Test Water Tank and Testing Method" invented by Professor Aman Zhang and others received an excellence award.


This selection took place among member units of the Intellectual Property Association of China's Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Industry property, resulting in a total of 14 gold awards and 16 excellence awards.

During the exhibition, the China Shipbuilding Intellectual Property High-Quality Development Forum and the Intellectual Property Branch of the China Association of National Shipbuilding Industry were also held. Professor Liao Yulei from the college shared experiences on the topic of "High-Value Patent Practice in the Field of Marine Robotics."

Introduction to the 2nd China Maritime Equipment Expo

From November 15 to 18, the 2nd China Maritime Equipment Expo was held in Fuzhou, Fujian. With the theme of "Green Intelligence, New Quality Future," this expo focused on hot areas within the ocean equipment sector, emphasizing innovation in the industrial and supply chains, collaboration between industry, academia, and research, talent exchange, economic and trade connections, and the commercialization of achievements. It comprehensively showcased the latest accomplishments and development trends in China's maritime equipment field. The expo covered an exhibition area of 100,000 square meters, bringing together nearly 800 high-quality exhibitors from around the world; it hosted over 30 professional forums and conferences, attracting approximately 35,000 professional visitors, including about 7,500 professional buyers (with more than 600 overseas buyers), and the total number of visitors reached around 220,000. During the 4-day event, the transaction and signing amount reached approximately 48 billion yuan. The expo fully demonstrated advanced and sophisticated equipment technologies and solutions in green, intelligent, and internationalized ocean equipment, creating a high-end platform that leads the trend of ocean industry development.
