The Institute of Deep-sea Engineering Technology

The Institute of Deep Sea Engineering Technology includes a deep-sea engineering technology academic team and a marine engineering foundation and intelligent waterway research team. Aiming at the development trend of marine engineering science and technology in the 21st century, the institute relies on the doctoral program of the first-level discipline of ship and marine engineering in our school, introduces outstanding talents in the field of marine engineering technology at home and abroad, and cultivates a group of young and middle-aged academic leaders who are in line with international standards. Academic backbone, carry out scientific research on offshore platform design and analysis and ocean energy utilization, shorten the gap between my country's deep-sea engineering technology level and foreign countries through digestion, absorption and re-innovation, and and provide first-class talents, disciplines and technical support for China's marine engineering, especially in deep-sea engineering oil and gas drilling, mining and production.

The research contents involved in the research include: floating platform structure and performance, positioning system, riser and pipeline system, marine environment dynamics underwater foundation and production system, model test technology, marine renewable efficient energy conversion system, research on the integration and optimization of renewable energy high-performance carrier system and marine renewable energy system, design and construction technology of water conservancy and river-sea engineering, and research on intelligent waterway technology.

Every year, more than 30 postgraduates are trained, young teachers go abroad for cooperative research or advanced study on average 1 person per year, and 2 overseas doctors are introduced.

During the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period, it undertook nearly 50 scientific research projects, including 1 national major project, 13 national natural science foundation projects, 2 Ministry of Education doctoral programs, 2 national 863 program projects, 4 national science and technology support programs, 1 national marine public welfare project, 4 national marine renewable energy special projects, 5 high-tech ships of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, 2 international cooperation projects, 1 provincial and ministerial level fund, and more than 10 other projects. At present, key technologies such as the overall performance of the deepwater platform, risers, positioning systems, structural analysis, and model tests have been mastered. During the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period, a total of 4 awards (including 1 first prize at the provincial and ministerial level, 1 third prize, and 2 first prizes at the department and bureau level) were awarded, and more than 200 articles were published (of which more than 20 were retrieved by SCI,nearly 100 articles were searched by EI), wrote 5 books, applied for 22 invention patents (14 authorized), and obtained 13 software copyrights.
